The American Eagle Gold Coin is the official gold bullion coin of the United States, minted at West Point since 1986. Struck in 22-karat gold (916.7/1000), each coin contains its stated weight in pure gold — alloyed with silver and copper for durability. The series spans four sizes: 1/10 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1 oz.
The obverse features Augustus Saint-Gaudens' iconic Lady Liberty design — a tribute to the classic 1907 Double Eagle — while the reverse displays a nest of American Eagles by sculptor Miley Busiek. The 2026 releases continue this tradition with a fresh proof-quality strike from the West Point Mint.
American Eagles are legal tender coins backed by the U.S. government, universally recognised by bullion dealers worldwide, and eligible for inclusion in U.S. Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs). They are among the most liquid and trusted gold coins available globally.
